Our mission
Quazal is dedicated to delivering multiplayer technologies to the ever demanding videogames market. Quazal offers two core technologies to encompass every multiplayer need, from development to deployment.
- Quazal Net-Z® is the most advanced distributed game state engine available on the market, providing game developers with an easy-to-use SDK that packs all the features required for videogames, from real-time data propagation for fast-paced games to synchronized game inputs for deterministic simulations.
- Quazal Rendez-Vous® is a fully featured lobby server that host game communities on all gaming platforms. The hosting services range from basic ranking and matchmaking to complex tournaments to game-tailored services.
Our history
Quazal was founded in 1998 when it secured capital investments from T2C2 Capital and Société Innovatech du Québec. Over the years, a number of institutional investors participated to Quazal's success, including Collar Capital, Fondaction, Caisse de Dépôt du Québec, Banque de Développement du Canada as well as some angels. In 2008, the management team successfully completed a management buyout. Today, Quazal is a private company wholly-owned by its management team.
What is the origin of "Quazal"?
Quazal is made up from two words: "Quetzalcóatl", the Mesoamerican feathered serpent god that created mankind and "Quasar", which represents massive and celestial objects, emitting exceptionally large amount of energy. A search for Quazal on Google, when we registered our name, returned no results, so that didn't hurt either. Nowadays, tens of thousands of results are typically found. The name itself pays a tribute to the origins of the company, which was to create technologies that would sustain virtual environments where hundreds of thousands could interact simultaneously.
